Custom Domains
Connect your own domain to any leaf or your profile for a fully branded presence with automatic SSL.
How it works
By default, your content lives at yourname.crann.ai. With custom domains, you can also make your leaf or profile accessible at your own domain (e.g. myblog.com or shop.yourbusiness.com).
When a visitor goes to your custom domain, they see your crann.ai content seamlessly — same theme, same posts, same everything. SSL certificates are provisioned automatically.
Adding a custom domain
- Go to your leaf settings and open the Domain tab.
- Click Add Domain and enter your domain (e.g.
example.com). - You will see two DNS records to configure with your domain registrar.
DNS configuration
You need to add two records at your domain registrar (Cloudflare, Namecheap, GoDaddy, etc.):
1. Point your domain to crann.ai
For subdomains (e.g. blog.example.com): Add a CNAME record pointing to domains.crann.ai.
For apex/root domains (e.g. example.com): Add an A record pointing to 54.37.225.94.
2. Verify ownership
Add a TXT record for _crann-verify.yourdomain.com with the verification token shown in your leaf settings. This confirms you own the domain.
Verification
Once you have added both DNS records, click Verify DNS in your leaf settings. The system checks for both records and will tell you specifically which ones are found or missing.
DNS changes can take up to 48 hours to propagate, though it usually takes just a few minutes. If verification fails, wait a bit and try again.
SSL certificates
Once your domain is verified and active, an SSL certificate is automatically provisioned via Let's Encrypt on the first visit. There is nothing to configure — your domain will serve over HTTPS from the start.
Leaf vs. profile domains
You can connect a domain to a specific leaf (your podcast, your business page, etc.) or to your overall profile. When connected to a leaf, visitors go straight to that leaf. When connected to your profile, visitors see your full crann.ai profile page.
Removing a domain
You can disconnect a domain at any time from the Domain tab in your leaf settings. Your content will still be available at your crann.ai subdomain. After removing a domain, you should also remove the DNS records at your registrar.
