Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of terms

By creating an account on crann.ai or using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the service. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and crann.ai.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years of age to create an account and use crann.ai. By creating an account, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement. We verify age at signup through date of birth collection.

3. Your account

• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
• You may not share your account with others or create multiple accounts.
• You must provide accurate information when creating your account.
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
• Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.

4. Your content

You retain full ownership of all content you create on crann.ai, including leaves, posts, pages, and uploaded media. By publishing content on crann.ai, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to display, distribute, and store your content solely for the purpose of operating the platform and providing the service.

You may delete your content at any time. When you delete your account, we permanently remove your personal data after a 30-day grace period, as described in our Privacy Policy.

5. AI-generated content

crann.ai uses AI (powered by Anthropic) to help you generate leaves and content. AI outputs are tools for your use — you are solely responsible for reviewing, editing, and publishing any AI-generated content. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or appropriateness of AI outputs.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to use crann.ai to:

• Post content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, or discriminatory
• Impersonate any person or entity
• Upload malware, viruses, or malicious code
• Send spam or unsolicited messages through the platform
• Infringe on the intellectual property rights of others
• Attempt to access other users' accounts or data without authorisation
• Use automated tools to scrape, crawl, or extract data from the platform
• Interfere with or disrupt the platform or its infrastructure
• Circumvent age verification or other safety measures

7. Real-time communication

crann.ai provides messaging, voice calls, and video calls between users. By using these features, you agree to:

• Use messaging and calls only for lawful, respectful communication
• Not use messaging to send spam, harassment, or unsolicited commercial content
• Not record, redistribute, or screen-capture calls without the consent of all participants
• Accept that call media streams are processed by third-party infrastructure (LiveKit) for real-time delivery
• Accept that screen sharing is visible to all call participants in real time

Message content is stored to provide conversation history. Call audio and video content is not recorded or stored by crann.ai.

8. Community standards

All users are expected to follow our Community Guidelines, which describe in detail the standards of behaviour expected on crann.ai. Violations of the Community Guidelines may result in content removal, account suspension, or termination.

9. Content moderation

We reserve the right to remove content that violates these Terms, our Community Guidelines, or applicable law. We may also suspend or terminate accounts that repeatedly or severely violate our policies. If your content is removed, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you and explain the reason.

10. Mobile application

If you use the crann.ai mobile app, these Terms apply equally to your use of the app. The app is provided as a convenience and may offer a subset of the features available on the web platform. We may update, modify, or discontinue the app at any time.

11. Data export

You have the right to export your data at any time through your profile settings. Exported data is provided in JSON format and includes your profile, leaves, posts, pages, events, connections, and messages.

12. Copyright and intellectual property

We respect intellectual property rights and expect our users to do the same. If you believe content on crann.ai infringes your copyright, please see our DMCA Policy for the takedown request process.

13. Third-party services

crann.ai integrates with third-party services including Google (OAuth sign-in), GitHub (OAuth sign-in), and Anthropic (AI features). Your use of these integrations is also subject to the respective third party's terms and privacy policies.

14. Limitation of liability

crann.ai is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service, data preservation, or the accuracy of any content on the platform. To the maximum extent permitted by law, crann.ai shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.

15. Termination

You may delete your account at any time through your profile settings. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the service ceases immediately.

16. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes at least 30 days before they take effect, either by email or through a notice on the platform. Continued use of the service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
