Getting Started
Everything you need to go from sign-up to your first published leaf.
1. Create your account
Head to crann.ai/signup and register with your email and password, or sign in with Google or GitHub. You must be at least 13 years old.
2. Choose a username
During onboarding you'll pick a unique username. This becomes your personal subdomain — username.crann.ai — so choose something memorable. It can't currently be changed later, so take a moment over it.
What you'll see after signing up
So you know you're on track: after creating your account you'll walk through three short steps — username, interests (pick at least three), and style (a look for your space, which you can change any time). Then you'll land in the leaf wizard, which asks what you're growing and sets up your first space in seconds. When it finishes, you're on your own page at username.crann.ai — that's home. Nothing is published until you add content, and a brand-new space suggests real leaves and people to explore so you're never staring at an empty screen.
3. Set up your profile
Add a profile picture, bio, and location. Your profile is the public face of your crann.ai presence and is visible to anyone who visits your page.
4. Create your first leaf
Leaves are your content spaces. Create one from your dashboard — give it a name, choose a theme, and set the visibility. You can create personal leaves, business pages, or community spaces. Choose a display mode: Feed for a timeline, Gallery for visuals, or Podcast for audio content.
5. Add content
Publish posts, create static pages, and add events to your leaf. You can upload images, embed audio, pin important posts, and use AI to help draft content. Tags are extracted automatically to help with discoverability.
6. Share your leaf
Share your leaf URL (username.crann.ai) with friends, colleagues, or your audience. You can also download a QR code for offline sharing, connect your own domain for a branded URL, or share posts to other leaves. Others can follow your leaf, and people also find public leaves through the Explore page — a hand-curated directory grouped by interest, with no algorithm involved.
